VERSES OF THE HOLY QUR’ĀN

THAT BEGIN WITH THE NAME OF ALLĀH

Allāh throws back their mockery at them (the disbelievers) and He leaves them to wander about in their inordinacy. (2:15)

Allāh! None is to be worshipped but He, the Ever-Living, the Self-Existing by Whom all subsist. Slumber overtakes Him not, nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His Knowledge except what He wills. His Seat extends over the heavens and the earth and He is never weary of preserving them both; and He is the Most High, the Supreme. (2:255)

Allāh is the Protector of believing Muslims. He brings them out of the darkness towards the light; and as for those who disbelieve, their guardians are false deities, who take them out of the light towards the darkness; they are the Companions of the Hell-fire, they shall abide in it for ever. (2:257)

Allāh! None is to be worshipped but He, the Ever-Living, the Self-Existing by Whom all subsist. (3:2)

Allāh! None is to be worshipped but He. He will certainly gather you together on the Day of Resurrection, there is no doubt in it; and who is more true in word than Allāh. (4:87)

Allāh is He Who raised up the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He established Himself on the Throne befitting His Dignity, and He made the sun and the moon subservient, each one runs for an appointed term. He regulates the whole affair, making clear the Signs in detail, so that you may believe with certainty about the meeting with your Lord. (13:2)

Allāh knows what every female bears, and by how much the wombs fall short of completion (of their time), and by how much they exceed, and everything with Him is with proper measure. (13:8)

Allāh expands the provision for whom He wills and He restricts (it for whom He wills). And they rejoice in the life of this world, but the life of this world compared with the Hereafter is but a temporary enjoyment. (13:26)

Allāh, to Whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth, and woe to the unbelievers from a severe punishment. (14:2)

Allāh is He Who created the heavens and the earth and caused water to come down from the sky; then, with it, brought out fruits as provision for you, and He has made the boats to be of service to you, that they may run in the sea by His Command, and He has made the rivers of service to you. (14:32)

Allāh! None is to be worshipped but He, His are the Most Beautiful Names. (20:8)

Allāh will judge between you on the Day of Resurrection concerning that in which you differ (22:69)

Allāh chooses Messengers from among the angels and from the men; surely, Allāh is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (22:75)

Allāh is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His Light is as a niche in which is a lamp; the lamp is in a glass, the glass is, as it were, a brightly shining star, lit from the blessed tree, an olive, which is neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil almost gives light though no fire touch it. Light upon Light. Allāh guides to His Light whom He wills, and Allāh sets forth parables for mankind, and Allāh has full knowledge of all things. (24:35)

Allāh! None is to be worshipped but He, the Lord of the Magnificent Throne. (27:26)

Allāh expands the provision for whom He wills of His servants, and restricts if for whom He wills. Surely, Allāh has full knowledge of all things. (29:62)

Allāh originates the creation, then He reproduces it, then to Him you will be returned. (30:11)

Allāh is He Who created you, then provided for you, then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you back to life. Is there any of your (so-called) partner-gods who does any of these things? Glorified and Exalted is He above the partners they associate (with Him). (30:40)

Allāh is He Who sends the winds so they raise a cloud, then he spreads them in the sky as He pleases, and He causes them to break, and you see the rain coming from their midst; then, when He causes it to fall upon whom He pleases of His servants, lo! they rejoice. (30:48)

Allāh is He Who created you in a state of weakness, then He gave you strength after weakness, then ordained weakness and grey hair after strength. He creates what He pleases, and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful. (30:54)

Allāh is He Who created the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them in six days, then He established Himself on the Throne befitting His Dignity. You have no guardian or intercessor apart from Him. Will you not then reflect? (32:4)

Allāh, Who is your Lord and the Lord of your fore-fathers. (37:126)

Allāh has revealed the Best Message, a Book (that is) Consistent, repeating (its teachings), at which do tremble the skins of those who fear their Lord, then their skins and their hearts do soften to the remembrance of Allāh. This is Allāh’s guidance, He guides with it whom He pleases; and he whom Allāh causes to go astray, for him there is no guide. (39:23)

Allāh takes (people’s) souls at the time of their death, and (the souls of) those that have not (yet) died during their sleep. Then He withholds that (soul) on whom He has decreed death, and sends the other (souls) back, till an appointed term; certainly, there are signs in this for a people who reflect. (39:42)

Allāh is the Creator of every thing and He has authority over every thing. (39:62)

Allāh is He Who made for you the night that you may rest (in it), and the day for seeing. Most surely, Allāh is Gracious to mankind, but most men do not give thanks. (40:61)

Allāh is He Who made the earth a resting-place for you, and the heaven as a canopy; and He shaped you, then made your shapes beautiful; and He provided you with good and wholesome things; such is Allāh, your Lord; so Blessed is Allāh, the Lord of the worlds. (40:64)

Allāh is He Who made the cattle for you that you may ride on some of them, and some of them you may eat. (40:79)

Allāh is He Who has revealed the Book with the truth, and the Balance of Justice, and what shall make you realise that perhaps the Hour may be near? (42:17)

Allāh is Gentle towards His servants. He provides for whom He pleases; and He is the Most Strong, the Mighty. (42:19)

Allāh is He Who made the sea of service to you, that the boats may run on it by His Command, and that you may seek His bounty, and that you may be thankful. (45:12)

Allāh! None is to be worshipped but He; and in Allāh, then, let the believing Muslims put their trust. (64:13)

Allāh is He Who created seven heavens, and of the earth, the like thereof. The Commandment comes down in their midst, so that you may know that Allāh has power over all things and that Allāh indeed encompasses all things in (His) Knowledge. (65:12)

Allāh, the Eternally Besought. (112:2)
