His Prophecies
Promise of Victory at Hudaibiya
Narrated Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) regarding Allah's
Statement:-
"Verily! We have granted you (O, Muhammad) a manifest victory."
(48:1)
It refers to the Al-Hudaibiya Pledge. And the companions of the Prophet
said (to the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him), "Congratulations
and happiness for you; but what reward shall we get?" So Allah (The
Glorified and the Exalted) revealed:-
'That He may admit the believing men and women to gardens beneath which rivers
flow." (Bukhari)
Advance knowledge of martyrs
Narrated Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (may Allah's
blessings and peace be upon him) had informed the people about the death of Hadrat
Zaid, Hadrat Ja'far and Hadrat Abdullah Ibn Rawaha (may Allah be pleased with
them) before the news of their death reached them. He said with his eyes
flowing with tears, "Zaid took the flag and was martyred; then Ja'far took
the flag and was martyred, and then Ibn Rawaha took the flag and was martyred.
Finally the flag was taken by one of Allah's Swords (i.e. Hadrat Khalid bin Al-Walid
may Allah be pleased with him) and Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) gave
them (i.e. the Muslims) victory." (Bukhari)
Sayyidina Umar and Sayyidina Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them) would
be martyred.
Narrated Hadrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet
(may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) once climbed the mountain of Uhud
with Sayyidina Abu Bakr, Sayyidina 'Umar and Sayyidina 'Uthman (may Allah be pleased
with them). The mountain shook with them. The Prophet (may Allah's
blessings and peace be upon him) said (to the mountain), "Be firm, O Uhud!
For on you there are no more than a Prophet, a Siddiq and two martyrs."
(Bukhari)
Sayyidina Imam al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) would reconcile
the Muslims
Narrated Sayyidina Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him): I heard
the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) talking at the pulpit
while Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting beside him and he (i.e.
the Prophet, may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) was once looking at
the people and at another time Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him), and saying,
"This son of mine is a Sayyid (i.e. chief) and perhaps Allah will bring about
an agreement between two sects of Muslims through him."
(Bukhari)
Others would get preferance over the Ansar
Narrated Hadrat Usaid bin Hudair (may Allah be pleased with him): A man from
the Ansar said, "O Allah's Messenger! Will you appoint me as you have
appointed so-and-so?" The Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) said, "After me you will see others given preferance to you;
so be patient till you meet me at the Tank (i.e. Lake of Kauthar). (on the Day
of Resurrection)." ." (Bukhari)
A man who would enter Hell-Fire
Narrated Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): We witnessed
(the battle of) Khaibar. Allah's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) said about one of those who were with him and who claimed to be a
Muslim, "This (man) is from the dwellers of the Hell-Fire." When
the battle started, that fellow fought so violently and bravely that he received
plenty of wounds. Some of the people were about to doubt (the Prophet's
statement), but the man, feeling the pain of his wounds, put his hand into his
quiver and took out of it, some arrows with which he slaughtered himself (i.e.
committed suicide). Then some men amongst the Muslims came hurriedly and
said, "O Allah's Messenger! Allah has made your statement true; so-and-so
has committed suicide." The Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) said, "O so-and-so! Get up and make an announcement that none
but a believer will enter Paradise and that Allah may support (this) religion
with an unchaste (evil) wicked man. (Bukhari)
The earth would not accept the apostate
Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man who had acted as secretary
to the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) apostatised from
Islam and attached himself to the polytheists, so the Prophet (may Allah's blessings
and peace be upon him) said, "The earth will not accept him." Hadrat
Abu Talha (may Allah be pleased with him) told me he came to the land in which
the mad died and found him cast on the surface of the ground. He asked the
reason and was told by the people that they had buried him several times, but
that the earth would not accept him.
(Bukhari and Muslim)
The wordly super powers would be conquered
Hadrat Nafi' bin 'Utba (may Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger
(may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) as saying, "You will attack
Arabia and Allah will conquer it; then Persia and Allah will conquer it; then
you will attack the Byzantines and Allah will conquer them; then you will attack
the Dajjal and Allah will conquer him." (Muslim)
Promise of Treasures of the World
Narrated Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (may
Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "I have been given the keys
of eloquent speech and given victory with awe (cast into the hearts of the enemy),
and while I was sleeping last night, the keys of the treasures of the earth were
brought to me till they were put in my hand." Hadrat Abu Huraria (may
Allah be pleased with him) added: Allah's Apostle (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) left (this world) and now you people are carrying those treasures
from place to place. (Bukhari)
Narrated Hadrat Jabir bin Samura (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet
(may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "If Caesar is ruined,
there will be no Caesar after him: and if Khosrau is ruined, there will be no
Khosrau after him; and by Him in Whose Hand my soul is, surely you will spend
their treasures in Allah's Cause." (Bukhari)
The Muslim Ummah would be very large
Narrated Hadrat Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah's Messenger
(may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "Nations were displayed
before me (and in the display) one or two prophets would pass by along with a
few followers. A prophet would pass by accompanied by nobody. Then
a big crowd of people passed in front of me and I asked, 'Who are they?
Are they my followers?" It was said, "No. It is Nabi Musa
(peace be upon him) and his followers." It was said to me, "Look
at the horizon.' Behold! There was a multitude of people filling the
horizon. Then it was said to me, 'Look there and there, above the stretching
sky! Behold! There was a multitude filling the horizon,' It was said
to me, 'This is your nation out of whom seventy thousand shall enter Paradise
without reckoning."
Then the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) entered his
house without telling his companions who they (the 70,000) were. So the
people started talking about the issue and said, "It is we who have believed
in Allah and followed his Messenger; therefore those people are either ourselves
or our children who are born in the Islamic era, for we were born in the Pre-Islamic
Period of Ignorance." When the Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) heard of that, he came out and said, "Those people are those
who do not treat themselves with Ruqya, nor do they believe in bad or good omen
(from birds etc) nor do they get themselves branded (cauterized), but they (depend)
put their trust (only) in their Lord." On that Hadrat Ukasha bin Mihsan
(may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Am I one of them, O Allah's Messenger?"
The Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "Yes,"
Then another person got up and said, "Am I one of them?" The Prophet
(may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "Ukasha has anticipated
you." (Bukhari)
Advance knowledge of his approaching demise
Mother of all believers, Hadrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) relates:
'Once when all the wives of the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) were with him, his daughter, Hadrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased
with her) arrived there. The mode of her walking was exactly like the Holy
Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him). On seeing her, he
greeted her and said: 'Welcome, O my daughter, and made her sit by his right or
left side, and then whispered to her something at which she wept profusely.
When the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) noticed her
intense grief, he whispered to her once more at which she smiled. I said
to her: "The Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) ignoring
his wives, spoke secretly to you only, but why did you weep?". When
the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) left the gathering,
I asked her: "What did the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace
be upon him) say to you?". She said: 'I will not disclose the secret
of the Holy Prophet' (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him).
When the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) passed
away, I said to her: "I request you in the name of my right on you, to tell
me what the Holy Prophet (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) had said
to you." She said: 'Now, I will tell you. When he first whispered to
me, he informed me that every year Hadrat Jibreel Amin (Angel Gabriel) used to
recite to him the Qur'an, and then he would recite it back to him, but he had
done this twice this time. From this it appeared that his time (demise)
was approaching. He therefore advised me to stand in awe of Allah (mindful
of my duty to Allah) and be patient; I shall be the best advance guard for you.'
On this I wept as you saw. Seeing my discomfort, he whispered to me the
second time and said: 'Fatimah, are you not happy that you will be the leader
of the Muslim women or the Leader of the women of this Ummah. On this I
smiled as you saw.' (Bukhari and Muslim)
It is as narrated by Muslim.
A Mujaddid would appear after every century
Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger
as saying: Allah (The Glorified and the Exalted) will raise for this community
at the end of every hundred years the one who will renovate its religion for it.
(Abu Dawud)
The Mahdi
Hadrat Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's
Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) as saying:The Mahdi will
be of my stock, and will have a broad forehead and a prominent nose. He
will fill the earth with equity and justice as it was filled with oppression and
tyranny, and he will rule for seven years. (Abu Dawud)
The descent of Sayyidina Isa (peace be upon him)
Hadrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Prophet (may
Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) as saying: There is no prophet between
me and him, that is, Nabi Isa (peace be upon him). He will descend (to the
earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish
hair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down
from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the
cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah.
Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist
and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims
will pray over him. (Abu Dawud)
The Day of Judgement
Narrated Hadrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): Allah's Messenger (may
Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said, "From among the portents of
the Hour are (the following):
1. Religious knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious
learned men)
2. (Religious) ignorance will prevail.
3. Drinking of alcoholic drinks (will be very common).
4. There will be prevalence of open illegal sexual intercourse.
(Bukhari)
